MAXIMUM EFFORT!

Phrase for the day. This is a leather mouse pad I made for my husband, super happy with how it turned out. The picture is the unfinished product, but it was the picture I had, and the phrase is apt. Doing my alternator today and it sucks.

The thing that kind of sucks the most is I wanted to do it myself, but when I asked for help with the giant floor jack, the man just sort of took over. I became his scrub nurse. Nurse, hand me a rachet. Nurse, get me a breaker bar. Nurse, hold this screwdriver up. I got mad and decided to just stand out of the way. Nurse, why are you all the way over there with a pissed off expression on your face?  Just gellin'.

I'm a Capricorn, sometimes I need to do things on my own, and I hate waiting on people to get things done. Especially since he's getting sick and he's all slow and coughing and making weird noises. Whatever. As long as it gets done I guess.

One less thing to do for Friends giving, yay! The boyfriend of the friend got stuff for mashed potatoes and is apparently hell-bent on making them, so their loss, cause I'll still be making them for us. I think I'll make the cornbread for the dressing tonight, maybe the cheesecake, and then get the last of the holes punched in the Wild Woman bag. Then dye the big part, and start stitching that bad girl!

UPDATR! Alternator in, car runs SOOOO much better now! I'm a pizza delivery driver, so it's pretty important to have a running car. I had to sweet talk and finesse it, flutter the brake pedal at stops, etc. God forbid I had to slam on the brakes, it would just die. A few days ago I realized the situation was so dire the damn thing wouldn't even charge my phone anymore. How in the hell was that thing still running? Well that part is fixed now, so just waiting on the next thing to go out.

Hooray! Took it for a test spin and nearly cried at the way I could just stop, no growling,, no grumbling, no lurching. No random just dying as I turn a corner. Fantastic. Purr.

I think I'm going to make a Picachu mask, or maybe I'll look up the popular characters and make something different, I don't know yet. DESPERATELY want to make a paper mache cheshire cat taxidermy head, but I have so many other projects to do it's going to have to sit on the back burner. I want to try to use foam, the kind you use to insulate I guess? I've seen some sculpting done, you do the basic shape of whatever, spray this foam, I think it's relatively cheapish, and then you just kind of carve out your design and finish it off. It doesn't look easy, exactly, but it looks fun and endlessly possible. Definitely my next new thing.

Whew! My meds are totally kicking my ass today, or else I just exerted myself too much, I can barely see what I've written, and there have been far more typos than productive sentences,. I still have much to do tonight, so I'm out for now, might be back after these messages. Flies and honey.

But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
